If you like Nutella, hazelnuts and cornbread, you can’t miss this one. Nutella choco tacos are the perfect dessert for any occasion because they are easy to make and super delicious. In addition, they look great and leave a deep impression on friends and family.
What Are Nutella Choco Tacos
Nutella Choco Tacos are solid waffle cones that look like tacos filled with vanilla frozen yogurt, Nutella and caramelized hazelnuts and dipped in chocolate. They are led by the iconic choco tacos, a frozen oddity that was famous in the 90s.
The Ingredients We Need
To make Nutella choco tacos, you will need the following ingredients:
- Waffle cone mix (or use store-bought waffle cones and cut them in half)
- Vanilla ice cream
- Nutella
- Hazelnuts
- Sugar
- Water
- Chocolate chips
- Coconut oil

Making the Waffle Cones
- Assemble the waffle cone mixture. Use a waffle cone machine or adhere to the pack’s bearings. You can cut out circles from the waffles with a regular waffle iron if you don’t have a waffle cone maker.
- Form the Waffle Cones: After the waffles are finished, fold them over a wooden spoon or a taco frame and allow them to cool and solidify.
Caramelizing the Hazelnuts
- Toast the Hazelnuts: Toast the hazelnuts in a skillet over medium intensity until fragrant, around 10 minutes. Move them to a kitchen towel and rub them to eliminate the skins. Cleave them coarsely and put away.
- Make the Caramel: In a little pan, consolidate the sugar and water and heat to the point of boiling over high intensity. Cook, without blending, until the syrup becomes golden, around 15 minutes.
- Consolidate with Hazelnuts: Eliminate from the intensity and mix in the hazelnuts. Spread the blend on a baking sheet fixed with material paper and let it cool totally. Break into little pieces and store in an impermeable compartment.

The Chocolate Coating Preparation
Dissolve the Chocolate: In a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together until they are smooth and glossy.

Assembling the Nutella Choco Tacos
- Fill the Waffle Cones: Mellow the frozen yogurt marginally and scoop it into a channeling sack. Pipe the frozen yogurt into the waffle cones, leaving some space at the edges.
- Add Nutella and Hazelnuts: Shower a few Nutella over the frozen yogurt and sprinkle a few caramelized hazelnuts on top.
- Seal the Tacos: Crease the waffle cones over the filling and press delicately to seal. Freeze the tacos until firm, around 2 hours.
- Dunk in Chocolate: Plunge the edges of the tacos in the chocolate covering and put them on a baking sheet fixed with material paper. Freeze again until the chocolate is set, around 15 minutes.
